Giovanni Parlatore

Giovanni began to learn the art of cooking in Amalfi at a small pensione called Pensione Margarita [Duono] at the age of 9!  At 11 ½ years, he went to Rome where he began his real career; first helping in the kitchen where he stayed for 6 years at the grand Hotel Ritz, working his way up from almost nothing until he became sous chef. 

Then he went as the sous chef at Punta Ala and head chef at the Hotel Fleming in Rome.  He also cooked at Grand Hotel in Rome and Della Nazione.  As he always wished to return home, he moved back to Amalfi as head chef at the famous Hotel Cappuccini.  

Deciding to get additional experience, he traveled to become head chef at the Miramalfi in Amalfi and various hotels and restaurants in Capri, Calabria, Lombardy and Roccarosso, a winter ski resort.  

Even though he had offers of work in other ski resorts, as an Amalfitan, his heart always turned towards home.  He has now been at Hotel Luna for nearly a year.
