Spain Taste
Culinary Holiday in Catalonia

Spain Taste's culinary holiday in Catalonia showcases what is best in this delightful region of Spain.  The Cuisine of Spain is the most exciting up and coming cuisine in Europe.  During the week the best of the country is offered--cheese, wine and cava tastings, typical and fine dining experiences showcasing both mountain food and seafood creations, sites of architectural and historical significance, and peaceful surroundings.

Tours of Barcelona and surrounding regions include the fabulous Boqueria market, one of the most important food markets in Europe, the architecture of Antonio Gaudi, the historical sites of Girona and Besalu.  Tucked in these small villages are some of the best restaurants in Spain and you will dine at three of them.  Ca L'Enric, Sant Pau at San Pol de Mar and El  Celler de Can Roca will be serving special degustation menus paired with local wines.

The classes taught by young and talented Chef Oriol Blanes Masana and his two assistants will feature and teach typical tapa delights which are now so popular.  You will learn Catalan and Mediterranean specialties and the chefs will weave their magic in a class of modern Spanish cooking.  You will become up-to-date and familiar with what is now the rage in the food world.

Students stay in a charming fifteenth-century hotel located on the Sali Route.  Close by is the Castell de Perelada where, on free days, you can visit the castle, play golf or enjoy the spa which features treatments made of wine and  grape products.
